How to uninstall Cupola
Updated October 20, 2026
Open Terminal and paste this line, then press Return:
curl -fsSL https://trycupola.com/app/uninstall.sh | bash
What it removes
The uninstall script, in order:
- Quits Cupola if it's running (it asks the app to quit normally, then waits up to 10 seconds before forcing it closed).
- Removes
/Applications/Cupola.app. If it needs an administrator password to do that, it asks for one. - Resets Cupola's privacy permissions (Calendars, Reminders, Full Disk Access and the rest) so a future reinstall starts from a clean permissions state instead of macOS remembering an old grant.
That's it by default. Your Settings, activity log and local search index are left in place, so if you reinstall later, Cupola picks up right where you left off.
Removing everything (--purge)
To also delete Cupola's settings and local data, add --purge:
curl -fsSL https://trycupola.com/app/uninstall.sh | bash -s -- --purge
With --purge, the script additionally removes:
~/Library/Application Support/Cupola(settings, activity log, search index)~/Library/Caches/com.cupola.app~/Library/HTTPStorages/com.cupola.app~/Library/Saved Application State/com.cupola.app.savedState- Cupola's
defaultspreferences
Your license key and trial status live in the macOS Keychain, not in these folders, and --purge never touches the Keychain: they're kept either way, so reinstalling and signing back in with the same license works even after a purge.
What's never touched
Uninstalling Cupola only removes Cupola itself. Your actual events, reminders and notes live in Apple's own Calendar, Reminders and Notes apps and their iCloud sync, and Cupola never has its own separate copy of them, so nothing in those apps is affected by uninstalling, with or without --purge.
If you're moving your license to a different Mac rather than uninstalling for good, see Activating your Cupola license; deactivate the key in Settings › License first so it's free to activate on the other Mac.
Give your notch something to do.
Try Cupola free for 7 days, then pay once ($20) to keep it.
