Terms

Last updated 20 October 2026

The short version

  • Try every feature free for 7 days. After that, a lifetime license keeps adding and editing unlocked.
  • You pay $20 once, or the same in your local currency at checkout. No subscription, and a full refund within 14 days if you ask.
  • Your calendars, reminders and notes stay yours, on your Mac.
  • Please don't share your license key, and keep backups of your data.

This summary is here to help. The full Terms below are what count.

1. About these Terms

These Terms cover Cupola, the app for Mac, and this website, trycupola.com. Cupola is made by Venzpire ("we", "us", "our").

By installing or using Cupola, or by buying a license, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't install or use Cupola.

2. Who can use Cupola

You need to be old enough to make a contract where you live, or have a parent or guardian agree to these Terms for you.

Cupola runs on Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) and macOS 26 or later. Please use the free trial to check that it works well on your Mac before you buy.

3. The free trial

Every feature is free for 7 days, starting the first time you open Cupola. You don't need to give us a card or an email address.

When the trial ends, you can still see your events, reminders and notes in Cupola. Adding and editing need a license. Please don't try to reset, extend or get around the trial.

4. Your license

When you buy Cupola, we send you a license key that unlocks it. Your license:

  • is a one-time purchase, with no subscription and nothing to renew;
  • never expires;
  • includes the updates we release for Cupola, delivered inside the app;
  • is for you personally, for personal or work use, and is active on one Mac at a time. To move Cupola to another Mac, deactivate the key on the old one in Cupola's Settings under License, then activate it on the new one. If the old Mac isn't available, choose Move License to This Mac on the new one; a license can move this way 3 times in any 30 days.

You may not:

  • share, sell, rent or publish your license key;
  • copy or redistribute Cupola, or offer it to others as a service;
  • remove, disable or get around the license check or the trial;
  • reverse engineer Cupola, except where the law allows it and this restriction can't apply.

Cupola is licensed to you, not sold. We keep all rights in the app, its name, its artwork and its design.

5. Buying and payment

The price is shown on this site in US dollars. Checkout may show it in your local currency instead, converted by Dodo Payments at its current exchange rate, so the amount can differ slightly from the US dollar price. Where checkout offers it, you can switch to paying in US dollars. Depending on where you live, tax such as VAT, GST or sales tax may be added at checkout. You'll see the total, in the currency you'll be charged, before you pay.

If you pay in a currency your card or bank doesn't use, your bank may add its own conversion fee. That fee is between you and your bank, and we can't refund it.

Payments are processed by Dodo Payments, which sells Cupola to you as merchant of record and may also ask you to accept its own terms for the payment itself. Dodo Payments emails your license key to the address you give at checkout.

6. Refunds

If Cupola isn't right for you, email [email protected] within 14 days of buying, from the address you bought with or with your order number. We'll refund the full amount, in the currency you paid, no questions asked.

Once a license is refunded, it stops working. This refund promise comes on top of any rights you have under consumer law where you live; it doesn't replace them.

7. Installing and updates

Cupola is installed with a single command you run in Terminal. The installer downloads Cupola from trycupola.com, checks that the download is complete and that the app carries our signature, and then puts it in your Applications folder. It doesn't install anything else.

Cupola checks for updates once a day and asks you before it installs one. You can change this in Cupola's Settings under General, Software Update.

To remove Cupola, quit it and move it from Applications to the Bin, or run the uninstall command:

curl -fsSL https://trycupola.com/app/uninstall.sh | bash

8. Your data

Cupola works with the calendars, reminders and notes that Apple's apps keep on your Mac. It only changes them when you ask it to, for example when you add an event or tick off a reminder. Your data is yours, and we never receive it.

We test Cupola carefully, but no software is free of bugs. Because Cupola edits your real calendars, reminders and notes, please keep backups, for example with iCloud or Time Machine.

How we handle information, in the app and on this site, is explained in the Privacy Policy.

9. Apple's apps and macOS

Cupola is an independent app. It isn't made, endorsed or supported by Apple. Apple, Mac, macOS, Calendar, Reminders and Notes are trademarks of Apple Inc.

Some features, like checklists and tables in Notes and tags in Reminders, rely on parts of macOS that Apple doesn't publicly document, and a macOS update can change them without warning. If that happens, we may switch the affected feature off remotely until an update fixes it, so it can't harm your data. Cupola then uses a simpler way to do the same job, or tells you the feature isn't available for now.

10. Warranty and liability

We work hard to make Cupola reliable, but we provide it "as is" and can't promise it will always be free of errors or work with every future version of macOS.

As far as the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for lost data, and our total liability for any claim about Cupola is limited to the amount you paid for your license.

Nothing in these Terms limits liability that the law doesn't allow us to limit, such as for fraud, or for death or personal injury caused by negligence, and nothing here takes away rights you have as a consumer where you live.

11. Ending your license

You can stop using Cupola at any time. We may end your license if you seriously break these Terms, for example by publishing your license key. If we do, you must stop using Cupola. Sections 8 to 10 still apply after your license ends.

12. This website

You're welcome to link to trycupola.com and share it. Please don't copy its content or design, or try to disrupt or break into the site or the installer.

13. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms, for example when the app gains new features or checkout changes. When we do, we'll change the date at the top of this page. Changes never take away a license you've already paid for.
